House in Santa Elena

This coastal bungalow near Puerto Escondido reinterprets the principles of the traditional palapa through a monolithic, sculpted form. A textured volume is carved to create deep openings, shaded terraces, and a central covered space that becomes the heart of the project. The faceted roof introduces controlled daylight and natural ventilation, while wooden shutters and terracotta floors anchor the house to its coastal context. Organized around a central volume, the spaces remain open, porous, and intimately connected to the surrounding landscape, offering a contemporary approach to Pacific coastal living.
